Benefits of securing an IEC spot through an IRCC Recognized Organization REPEAT CATEGORY

Benefits of IEC participations with a Recognized Organizations (RO): Repeat Category

A-Way to Work / International Rural Exchange Canada (one of the 8 IRCC ROs) offers access to two repeat participations in the same category, even if a foreign national would not have such access via the regular International Experience Canada program.

Below is a screenshot of IRCC’s operational instructions and guidelines, in case you’re interested:

International Rural Exchange Canada (IREC) can help applicants from the following 8 nations with two RO IEC YP repeat participations who would not usually be able to apply for an IEC YP work permit through the regular IEC program:

Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Hong Kong, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, and San Marino

International Rural Exchange Canada (IREC) can also help applicants from Switzerland apply for two repeat Working Holiday participations. Swiss citizens would not usually be able to apply for an IEC Working Holiday work permit through the regular IEC program

IEC eligible nationals who are eligible for both the regular IEC WH and YP program are also welcome to participate in two RO IEC participations of their choice. IREC can help participants from the following 28 nations who have access to both regular IEC WH and YP programs to two additional WH or YP participations:

Australia, Austria, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and United Kingdom

As an example, in 2023, I helped a British citizen who had participated in the regular IEC participation then an RO IEC Working Holiday participation with an RO called Stepwest. I helped them with their second (repeat) RO IEC Working Holiday participation with IREC. If they are unlucky enough to not to become Permanent Resident over the next 2 years, their total number of years participating in the IEC Working Holiday program will reach a whopping 6 years(one 2-year regular IEC participation plus two 2-year RO IEC participations)!
